David Caffall, as Chief Executive of AIC, represents the UK agricultural supply industry within the UK and across Europe. He engages at a senior level with governments, trade bodies and other relevant stakeholders from farming to food processing and retailing.
His role involves representation on many UK Bodies, Working Groups and Committees. Charitable work for the industry includes being a Trustee of the Corn Trade Benevolent Society.
David is an active participant in the European Trade Associations which represent AIC within the EU. Activities include the establishment of a European Food Chain Coalition with high level connections into the Commission. Leveraging these contacts is proving vital during the ongoing Brexit discussions.
David’s contributions to the industry have been acknowledged in recent years by his being made a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies (FRAgS) and becoming an Honorary Fellow of the NIAB.
His CV includes a wealth of experience in UK, European and North American agribusinesses. He has held several Chief Executive appointments, first with Du Pont with responsibility for 11 European countries, then within the UK supply industry, including Executive Chairman of Agrovista.
David won the Worshipful Company of Farmers gold medal at Wye College, University of London and is a holder of Du Pont’s prestigious ‘Global Business Excellence’ Award.
